Welcome to our home in the heart of Tipperary. Mountain View is a charming home which dates back to the 18th Century, situated in a village close to the heritage town of Cahir in South Tipperary, also known as the Crossroads of the South, and the beautiful mountain pass called the Vee.
We offer very comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Our B&B is situated in a handsome cottage and converted stone-built farmyard buildings, dating back several hundred years and retaining many original features and unique charm, and set in some of Ireland’s least discovered yet most staggeringly beautiful countryside in the county of Tipperary. We are surrounded by the Knockmealdowns, the Galtees, and the Comeragh mountain ranges.
The cottage is located on several acres of land away from any busy roads, and offers a welcome retreat for all our guests. The nearest village, Ballylooby, is picturesque and unspoilt, with its own church, school, village store, petrol station, and two pubs, one of which is a traditional thatched cottage!
We are lucky to have a number of interesting pubs, restaurants and places to visit within a short journey, and are within easy reach of some of South Tipperary’s most spectacular countryside and surrounded by places of historical heritage. With high standards of food available in Cahir, we are truly spoilt for choice of great places to eat. Mountain View B&B accommodation is close to Bay Loch, one of the highest lakes in Ireland, situated in the Vee mountain pass, and renowned for its outstanding beauty and bird-watching, just three miles away. We also have FREE wifi! We provide complimentary high speed internet access in our home.
